Imagine taking a knife and cutting through your house from the roof and down to the floor. If you looked inside your house from the sliced line, you would be looking at a section.

Sections are very important in helping explain what a building is like on the inside and how it relates to both the plan and elevation. Sections are particularly good for showing how high the ceilings and walls are on the inside.
